The Monsignor Colbert Center

The Center has been dedicated for adult programs in memory of Msgr. Daniel Colbert, our former pastor. The Center is at the back of Saint Anselm Catholic School. Entry is by the path between the church and the school off 4th Avenue or between the school and the convent off 83rd Street.

Living The Word
Scripture Study of the Sunday Mass Readings. Come and explore the Bible in the Catholic Tradition.

Confirmation of Adults
Did you get baptized and receive your first Communion, but not the Sacrament of Confirmation? Sunday classes for those in high school and adults of all ages begin on February 21, 2010.


Book Discussion Group
Meets on the third Thursday of each month. See the weekly bulletin for the current book selection.


Parish Library: Book and videos available on a variety  of spiritual and theological topics for adults and children.

The goal of our Elementary Religious Education Program is to bring the "Good News" of faith to the Catholic children attending public schools through a catechetical program. This program teaches basic Catholic beliefs, prepares children for the reception of the sacraments and encourages them to practice the Faith at home and in the community.

There are 150 children in the program.

 

Classes are held:

Grades 1 - 5
          meet on Wednesdays from 2:30pm - 3:45pm 

Grades 6
          meet on Wednesdays from 4:00pm - 5:15pm

 

Grades 7
          meet on Sundays from 8:30am-10am
          followed by the 10am Mass


 

Sunday Classes are from 11:00am - 12 noon. 

These classes meet the special educational needs of individual children

 

Preparation for the Sacraments is a two-year program.
 

Rite of Christian Initiation (RCIA)

This program is for adults who want to become Catholics and also for adult Catholics who have not received Confirmation and First Holy Communion. The candidates meet Wednesdays at 7:00PM from September to May with parish sponsors and catechists. The Sacraments of Initiation: Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Communion are celebrated at the Easter Vigil, the first Mass of Easter.
